Ms. Harrington graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies in 1982. She received her law degree from The University of Florida, College of Law in 1989. While in law school, Ms. Harrington was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Fourth Amendment Search and Seizure and First Amendment Political and Civil Rights. Ms. Harrington completed internships with the Office of the Public Defender for the Eighth Judicial Circuit in Gainesville and the Office of the State Attorney of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa. Upon graduation from law school in 1989, Ms. Harrington was appointed as an Assistant State Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit in Fort Myers, Florida. As a prosecutor, Ms. Harrington was assigned to major crimes and tried numerous cases including capital murder cases. Ms. Harrington was a Certified Instructor for the Lee County Police Academy and an attorney coach for the Florida Law Related Education High School Mock Trial Competition. She assisted the Fort Myers Police Department in their training program for officers involved in domestic violence cases. Ms. Harrington is a member of the Florida Bar, the Clearwater Bar Association, Pinellas County Trial Lawyers Association, and Canakaris Inn of Court. She is also admitted to practice in all courts of the United States, the District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Harrington was the Chair of the continuing legal education committee for the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar from 2002 to 2004. She is the Vice Chair of the Legal Needs of Children Committee of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar for the 2004 - 2005 calendar year. Ms. Harrington has been a member of the Executive Counsel for the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar since 2001.
